Doesn't quite take away that he dragged all of them to that place in the first place, though

    I didn't get the impression that they were unhappy to be near the lake, just that they didn't want to swim. I guess you could read it that way, but IMO that's not intrinsic to the comic.

    Yeah, this has always bothered me about these, it's a family vacation. Unless they do his thing at one point, then her thing later, and maybe something more Calvin specific, and we just don't see the others.

    Also, he forgot his bicycle.
