Wanted to replace Xbox SX with this, but at this price performance to value ratio is tough to swallow.

    Comparing a console to a computer feels weird to me. They're simply not the same things.

    You also have to factor in the price of the games and the width of the catalog.

    If you want to be pedantic then Xbox is also a computer.

    You don’t need to sell me idea of Steam machine, I want it for VR, want it to be my home server to replace my PI whenever it won’t be good enough for games but good enough for my homelab, want it for my steam library and freedom to get games from wherever instead of being locked.

    It’s just that at this price I’d rather keep Xbox for few singleplayer games that I play from time to time and when the time is right replace it with whatever will be a better deal. I got my SX dirt cheap and it has been serving me well, why waste money?
