That was my biggest culture shock. I expected never ending cities and suburbs like in New England.
Bro, go a like 5 miles west and it's all cornfields and shit.
Paris is a bit like that, walk all day and you're still in the center, but that's an exception.
I havent read that much of it, but I imagine Europe also has mega cities in the Judge Dredd documentaries.

Europe is mostly an endless sea of knolls with quaint windmills and no internet access.

There's a lot of freaking wild lands in Europe. Just travel anywhere around and you'll notice right away. Some of the most beautiful naturescapes are in Europe.
