Always has been.

Israel's whole economy would tank if the US stopped propping it up.

    Not anymore. Israel has been decoupling from US support and pre Iran war, could have survived because of other 'allied' countries buying cyber and military solutions. Post Iran war, Israel has lost a lot of soft power.
