It was sunny out, so I decided to do get some yardwork done. The video doesn't do justice to just how thick and tall the grass is; well over 3 foot tall in many places, with saplings starting to take root. A 6-foot wide path involves a lot of cutting!

Lol right before you paused to sharpen the blade I was thinking that the scythe was super dull

    I finally figured out what was wrong, for the record - my blade had slipped, it was maybe 15 degrees off-angle. Was definitely fighting with the tool in this video!

    This morning I fixed that and did a row twice the width with half the effort. Sharp = good, but right angle snath->blade = vital.
