Yeah, no that's backwards. If anything, it was about the right of states to enforce slavery.

    No, the confederate constitution directly takes away states rights on the subject of slavery.

    Article 1. Section 9.

    1. No bill of attainder, ex post facto law, or law denying or impairring the right of property in negro slaves shall be passed.
