We must bring back php forum signatures

It's a shame the fediverse doesn't have native support for them. They made web 1.0 forums fun in a way that 2.0 forums lacked.

I was tempted to add them to a custom fork of Voyager. But then figured people would just block me out of annoyance.

Are we talking about the image at the bottom of their comment? I’m on Voyager and I can see it.

Yes but your client won’t add such a sig after every comment you post.

Oooh, I follow you now.

Maybe they should appear on the first comment of a user in a thread only and limit their size. And people could toggle them maybe?

Since I was planning on making this a client side hack, I can’t affect how the server or other clients render it. I was thinking of making it just a small length, possibly with small text, which can be expanded like spoiler text. Then the existing markdown should support it.

I remember someone here on the fediverse used to post with a kind of sig ( I think it was something like a copyright disclaimer.) I haven’t seen them in a while though, and not sure what client they were using.

Plus no one uses my custom voyager fork AFAIK, so I would be the only one with an sig. which would be kind of dumb.
