    And they still won't get it, which they should realise after decades of dangling it in front of them, but alas. Also i wouldn't call dems "left".

    I genuinely believe it's a card the bourgeoisie is reserving to preserve imperialism by uniting the populace in support of the regime. The DNC can pivot to a social imperialist stance and retain imperialism for a bit longer that way, US wars are all unpopular now and cracks are showing. A social fascist pivot by the DNC could buy some time and make US imperialism more popular.
