It continues to have strong player numbers in general, which is probably why it never goes on a decent sale. Best I've seen is 25% off launch price. My patient gamer ass is not paying that for a years old game, no matter how good it is.

So, you don't pay full price on launch because you better wait, but then the discount is not enough because it's too old, right?

Some games never get a big sale, also years old now is not the same difference as it were when hardware evolved way faster

I'm in the same boat as the parent poster, with the added wrinkle that I won't pay $90 (CAD, with taxes) for any game. I have too many great unplayed games (mostly from bundles), so I can't justify spending that much on a single game. Especially with cost of living rising so much in the last few years.

But BG3 will still be good in 5 years when I can get it for $20-30. I'm in no rush.
