I had a co worker that daily drove a jeep on 37 inch tires, maybe 8 mpg. He lived like across town, not walkable but bikable for sure. He got one then lectric e bikes for like 800 bucks he said in the first 2 months of riding that to work every day he was in better shape and it had already paid for itself. Granted once winter came he was back to the jeep, but the fact that he spent almost a grand on a bike and it paid itself in less than a summer is pretty telling!
