You're right, except it wouldn't surprise me at all if the murderer Rittenhouse is a future candidate too.
The moment he and/or his marketing team decides that it's more profitable than his current grifts, he's going to run for office in a deep red congressional district or safely Republican gubernatorial race and probably win ๐ฎโ๐จ
