I'm sick of it too. From now on I'm going to max as little as possible. I'm calling it minmaxxing and no, it has nothing to do with RPG character stats.
It sends a signal to the self-styled cognoscenti of the targeted audience
I say I'm fatmaxxing when I eat a bunch of food — that's about the only way I'll use 'maxxing' as a term. I actually just hate the trend, but that's more because I hate 4chan than the term itself.
