PRESTO doesn't like Android Developer Options now (thelemmy.club)

Well this is new.

A smartphone screenshot showing a security warning dialog from the PRESTO app. The dialog box has a light pink background and displays the message: "Developer Options are currently enabled on your device, which is not supported for security reasons. Please disable Developer Options in your phone settings and reopen the application." A "CLOSE" button is visible at the bottom right of the dialog. The PRESTO logo and a partial line chart are visible in the background.

This right here is the beginning of the end for Android. It shouldn't be possible to limit apps because of Developer Mode in the first place. Google wants to go walled garden, like Apple. Well, then, I'll just go Apple in the first place; they have the better ecosystem. I was with Android for the openness.

    I installed graphene two weeks ago, it's fantastic. The only thing so far i found is that it doesn't support face umlock, which i hardly evwr used anyway. I mean it's neat, but usually i wouldn't wait until it recognized my face anyway

    Same, my phone will become a credit card and ID and nothing more, I'll chat with you folks and the TOR and Yggdra-folk on Postmarket or my laptop.

    Extra-credit spite: take your phone off on your taxes, you don't choose to own or use it. Fuck em the whole way down.
