MODERATORS
You understand that “work” isn't “convincing” people to go to there, right? We HAVE to go to work, to earn money and have healthcare, so we don’t die. Few people have been “convinced” that commuting is their preference.
People could choose to live closer to where they work, so that they could get there on a bike or on public transit. Many instead choose to live in the suburbs where there's no option other than driving.
My work is right off two major highways with no possibility of safely biking.
Our cities are not designed with anything other then cars in mind, often not even a sidewalk
Moving anywhere closer to work would make rent at minimum 65% of my pay check :(
