That's exactly why it's problematic and exactly why I called out both you and Simone though. You deliberately included the photo solely for the reason of increasing engagement and not because it was something that your post needed. Allowing this behavior is only going to lead to extremely low quality posts.
I get that sometimes you need a photo to point to to say "this is what I'm talking about" and that's why photos are allowed in descriptions and comments. I don't necessarily agree with your posting philosophy but I do at least understand why you do what you do.
