Hi,

I tried to look up the dev on his page and social media accounts. He didn’t post anything since months, and I believe this promising App along all of his profiles became abandoned.

I don’t want to speculate about the reasons, as there could be plentiful legit ones. I hope everyone involved is up and happy. I’ll start to look for a substitute for Arctic.

I’ve seen the App in the store and decided against it… based on the icon. 🫣

    I know, it’s tough. I try my best to strike a balance between self promo and supporting apps. I’ve managed to open some communication behind the scenes between most of the lemmy client devs. And I fully support people using apps that best fit their needs (e.g. voyager provides more customization than Blorp, and it’s an all around solid app).

    I think I’m a good dev but a terrible marketing person. I should not be in charge of promoting my app lol. But unfortunately if I don’t do it, nobody will. So apologies if I don’t always have the best judgement for when to promote.

    See, I would argue this way: If you make an App with a certain ease of use and all the features YOU like, you got a good start.

    Quality and dedication will get noticed. Your App and some more customization or polishing- so just a small leap - might just skyrocket.

    I will definitely check out your app and progress over time.
