Just saw this by chance: Donations and Patrons for Lemmy development surged massively on Liberapay in the last weeks! (lemmy.abnormalbeings.space)

Don't know what the exact cause was/is for this big surge - but I am glad to see it. No matter what personal problems people may have with the main devs, they are doing great work on the platform.

Also of interest, since this is a good place to plug things, other threadiverse things:

And I couldn't find a way to donate to mbin, in lieu of that:

EDIT: The creator of mbin gave a link in the comments: https://melroy.org/donate.html

A screenshot of two bar graphs showing the history of donations and patrons of Lemmy on Liberapay. Both show a sharp increase for the end of April and beginning of May, to USD 480 per week from 371 people at the time of the screenshot.

I mean, why are you here if that's what you believe? Lemmy is much more than .ml

I'm here exactly because ml doesn't represent us. Hopefully those losers lose so much funding that they abandon the project and somebody else picks it up.

Even if nobody picked it up that would still be better than paying those .ml dictator-cocksuckers.

Yeah, and I'm donating so we can all be here. I'm not on ml, I don't share most of their view, I want to support Lemmy development as a whole.
