A LinkedIn post by Collin Rutherford, a CEO. The post begins with Rutherford stating he received a message from his "Pakistani software developer this morning..." followed by a direct quote: "There have been some drone attacks in our area of residence. We're not sure what will happen next." Rutherford then comments on the employee's dedication, contrasting it with his experiences in the United States. He states, "It's hard to find this level of dedication in employees. In my experience, it's (almost) impossible to find it in the United States." Below the LinkedIn post is a screenshot of Slack messages. The first message is from "Hey team" at 11:40 AM, stating: "My purpose behind informing everybody in the team is that I want you guys to be aware and ready for any challenges that may come. I don't know what's coming next because it happened very sudden today. I'm suspecting that There can be delays in our communication, I'm not sure. But what I am sure about is that the tech team is going to be available." This message includes a thinking face emoji and a thumbs-up emoji. The second Slack message is from "Collin" at 11:42 AM, replying to the first message: "You're making me want to run through a wall. That got me fired up!!!" This reply includes a flexing arm emoji and a fire emoji.

Receiving a message like that from an employee and responding with anything other than encouragement to do whatever they need to keep themselves safe makes you a colossal piece of shit.

    It is common for children to lack global perspective and we don’t smother them in their cribs. It is common for that immaturity to persist into adulthood and we still don’t murder those people for their naïveté. It takes some people longer to learn their lessons. Killing them before they’ve learned them is an unforgivable mistake.
