I tried Reddit for a bit but it got so annoying having to do a new verification every time you want to post to a new sub, and half the time the mods never even respond, and a decent chunk of the ones that did respond were assholes. I also had to deal with getting banned and appealing over annoying stuff (both from Reddit and subs)

It's not like I do it for money so all that hassle didn't feel worth it and I don't need to "optimize" my engagement, so I decided to look around for a more chill option and found Lemmy.
