From the article. Not sure if the same thing but in Japan the Pre-purchase reservation lottery has already opened. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Buffalox@lemmy.world -2 points 1 year ago (1 child) That's weird, I don't see that anywhere but to right of the picture I have: Nintendo says preorders will no longer start on April 9th, but the console’s June 5th release date is unchanged. I wonder if it's because I'm in Europe? I made a search on the page for some of the key words, and the quote you made does NOT appear for me? And still with the quote, it doesn't say if it's ONLY changed for US? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Patch@feddit.uk 3 points 1 year ago (1 child) There's a direct quote from the company. According to a statement sent to The Verge by Eddie Garcia on behalf of Nintendo, it says preorders will no longer begin on April 9th: "Pre-orders for Nintendo Switch 2 in the U.S. will not start April 9, 2025 in order to assess the potential impact of tariffs and evolving market conditions. Nintendo will update timing at a later date. The launch date of June 5, 2025 is unchanged." I'm also in Europe. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] Buffalox@lemmy.world 2 points 1 year ago Thanks. But that's weird, now I see it immediately, it's clearly there 2nd paragraph? Also a search finds it no problem? Neither were the case yesterday? I have no idea why it didn't work yesterday? permalink fedilink source parent
