I get what you're saying but, as someone observing from outside, stuff like this is all I can do to resist.
As someone from the outside, you wouldn't even see the US specific naming. If complaining in a bug report about the fact and threatening to abandon the platform in favour of Linux is all you can do, man, don't bother xD.
I'm open to suggestions for what else I can do. I'm already not buying anything made in the US.
In Canada we see both. It says "Gulf of Mexico (Gulf of America)".
