Was making an official mod statement about the correct way to post about luigi really necessary?
It's also not entirely clear to me if posting about Luigi is still banned on c/cth or not
It was never banned the statement was about lionizing him
Moritorium on Luigi posting
Sounds like a ban to me. Is this still in effect? Which also leads me to ask if this was a wider decision by the mod team or if one mod is allowed to ban posting they don't like
oh i thought you meant on the site, that looks like a cth mod decision. I can ask if that is still what they want but luigi posting is not banned on hexbear
I was hoping the moratorium was because every single one of the luigiposts was terminally cringe
I think the question is still worth answering: Was it really necessary?
From my perspective it was not an issue that needed to be addressed given the political makeup of the site, and ultimately what it did was cool conversation across the board because it made what was acceptable posting (or upvoting due to the timing) ambiguous, and ultimately just wasted good will by infantilizing users
