Doesn't let me sign up using my phone number and I refuse to use Google :/
I get the code almost immediately but it just doesn't work when I paste it in the app :/
Edit: The issue seems to be that I'm using GeapheneOS.

Just tried that but apparently WeChat needs me to "verify" myself by entering my credit card info. hell nah
Sorry comrade, nobody gets to be unaccountable on Chinese social media.
Tried making a WeChat account, but my account was immediately temporarily banned likely because my phone is rooted and I downloaded the app from the Aurora Store. Oops. I guess if I want to use WeChat at some point, I will need to get a separate phone.
