I think the fact that it was a webpage you accessed via your browser rather than an actual smartphone app put me off. Jerboa was incredibly barebones and had an ugly UI, not to mention that until quite recently, you couldn't even access the permalink to replies until the app was updated but then Lemmy itself was updated and you could only sign in to servers that were running the latest version of Lemmy. I never personally used Sync when it was still on Reddit (was more of a BaconReader and Alien Blue user) but I can see why so many people loved the app and consider Reddit's API changes a dealbreaker. permalink fedilink source parent
