ah ok, well question still stands if anyone knows of a list of instances to block like that.

    I've just been blocking communities I'm not interested as I've seen them. I'd rather curate my experience myself than have someone else curate it for me. To each his own though. I suppose I do use ad block lists prepared by others so not a ton different. Haha.
