I think a lot of people stopped pirating because of Netflix, when they first started and they had a lot of good content and reasonable prices.

It's a classic move - start a convenient free or cheap product to kill the competition and then jack up the monetisation.

I remember the enormous amount of Torrenting there was of Lost and the like, so they'd be eager to sign up to streaming services too. I think the problem now is that it's even easier to illegally stream films and TV, so they aren't even doing that well on the convenience front.
