Yeah they do, my """""mother""""" was one.

She viewed children as pets and property. We were there to serve her financially and emotionally, and she had friends who viewed their children the same way.

Got any good recs for movie production channels?

He was very interested and asked for articles about Marxism and the stock market. Got any good ones? He seemed very enthusiastic.

Please, I hid it but it's really obnoxious.

Depends on your circumstances. Imo, if I could go back in time I'd take a year off to work side gigs/volunteer to get a better idea of what I want to pursue and how to go about doing that. I felt really rushed into college and I regret the school I picked.

Also a lot of stress related mental illnesses can pop up in college and that was the case for me and several people I knew. I'm not saying this to discourage you, college is great, but the jump from high school to sudden independence is really jarring for a lot of people. If you are concerned about mental health, consider looking into that.

Then, start with community College because it's cheap and you can finish most of your core classes, then transfer from there.

If your parents give you shit I recommend making a plan and presenting them with it to show that you will be working on yourself and you have a roadmap

I saw a patient who was 20 with long covid. She can't even tolerate listening to music and can't work. I saw another who developed paralysis in his hand (thankfully treatment has helped and he's recovering)

Fuck the west

Yeah I'm using Obsidian instead.

I wanted to see what the fuss was about after windows 11 came out, because I was sick of Windows intrusive UI and shady business practices.

I still use windows for some things, but now I duel boot to cinnamon and it is my daily desktop driver. I vastly prefer the clean interface and speed of Linux over windows, and I now play most of my games on it too. I was shocked when I realized that Elden Ring runs great, and looks better, on Linux while it was unplayable on windows at release.

I also installed Fedora to my surface pro after a windows update made it impossible to use without severe slowdown. I've had my surface for 6 years and it runs great on Linux.

The only downside to Linux is that, as am artist, the apps are limited. Blender is fantastic, Krita is catching up, but there is no way to use clip studio, harmony (toon boom, storyboard pro), or Zbrush (yes I can sculpt in blender but it is not quite there yet.)

I recommend teaching him that the social credit score only applies to the wealthy and draw parallels to the west's "social credit score"- credit scores.

I transitioned to ftm over ten years ago and I thought I was done with the gender stuff. I transitioned really well, I look like a cis-bear, and I have a beard that other guys get envious over. Socially and emotionally tho? Something was wrong.

I thought I was done but the more I tried fitting into that role, the worse I felt. I was taking the doctors suggested amount of testosterone, I looked passing, but I just wasn't fitting in. I felt more like myself, and at the same time I feel like I lost something. Like my ability to read a room and to have creative flexibility. I started feeling clogged. Like parts of me were shut behind a barrier.

Then, thanks to "cool healthcare" I lost access to my testosterone temporarily. It was obnoxious at first, but after a few days I started feeling great. More relaxed, more creative, more open to other people. More like- myself???? Uh oh.

Then it hit me- I've been stuck in dysphoria for ages. I just didn't notice because the dysphoria prior to T was so much worse. I still see myself as a man, but I want to be a funny little guy and not a beef boy.

Anyone else have an experience like this?

I'm so sick and tired of libs demanding that students juggle scholarship applications, working, studying, and fucking starving in order to get through college.

Y'know what? I don't think students should have to fucking work during school and it is fcked up that we've normalized grinding people into dust in order to achieve an education.

Oh, and fuck you if you have a learning disability and can't do both school and work. Guess it's poverty for you, buddy.

I'm working with doctors in admin and the Healthcare collapse? It's bad folks.

Doctors on call for ED while doing clinical at the same time.

Entire departments refusing patients in clinics up to 75 miles away. 3 weeks to make an appointment. Not to be seen, to make an appointment.

Shortages in all departments.

The only silver lining is that the there is a lot of solidarity among the people here.

We've known each other for a decade and he consumes a lot of common history sources like BBC documentaries, Behind the Bastards, Hardcore History etc... he's well meaning but very lib, and an expat from TERF Island.

He wanted podcast recommendations so I sent him "Blowback". He is very excited to listen to it.

I almost feel bad, but someone had to tell him.

Hey,

So I'm an artist who is desperately wanting to make Linux my daily driver. I am currently dual booting Linux Mint, and I've gotten to the point where I hate windows and resent having to use it, so I think I'm ready to make the switch.

But due to my job I still need these programs to function.

The first one: Toon Boom Storyboard Pro

This is industry standard. I do want to switch to blender for boarding but some studios require this program. Same with Toon Boom Harmony.

The second: Clip Studio Paint

I do use Krita, but it isn't quite there yet in terms of some of the functionality I need it for. It's getting there though!

Plz and thank.

My boyfriend made the "mistake" of being a grief counselor for children and now he's at home and struggling with full body neuropothy by himself, and all I can do is support him over the phone and check in on him hourly to make sure he isn't dying.

He's on paxlovid and seems to be doing better, although we had a big scare earlier today.

I'm just. So thrilled. About my government. I am so happy that Joe Biden declared this plague over. It's so great that we don't need two boosters a year even though every other major country recommends it. I love living in a miserly hell country that views me and my loved ones as a number.

It is so GREAT that COVID has started tearing through my small town, and may have permanently disabled a genuinely fantastic, loving, person for his crime of helping the most vulnerable grieve trauma.

IT'S SO GREAT

I FEEL GREAT
