This is more attention seeking. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 7 child comments replies: [–] agamemnonymous@sh.itjust.works -1 points 6 days ago (6 children) Just like you're seeking attention by calling it out? Some people are just interested in linguistics, God forbid people have fun being quirky. Who does it hurt? permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 6 child comments replies: [–] W98BSoD@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 6 days ago (5 children) It’s annoying and screws up screen readers. Ask me how I know. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 5 child comments replies: [–] agamemnonymous@sh.itjust.works 1 point 6 days ago (4 children) As someone with a mild enthusiasm for linguistics and phonetics, I like it. My only complaint is not using eth too. I can't imagine the inconvenience is much different than emojis or emoticons. But in any case it seems more like a gimmick than an cry for attention, certainly not as much as a whole picture (invisible to screen readers I imagine) targeted at them in retaliation. I don't get the hate, and the "This person just wants attention!" Seems way more performative and attention seeking. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 4 child comments replies: [–] W98BSoD@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 5 days ago (3 children) Got an image I can post that says “ignore this person’s gimmick”? Cause I’ll start using that instead. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 3 child comments replies: [–] agamemnonymous@sh.itjust.works 0 points 5 days ago (2 children) Why would I have that? Other people's gimmicks are their own business and I have no interest in seeking attention myself by calling attention to them. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 2 child comments replies: [–] W98BSoD@lemmy.dbzer0.com 0 points 5 days ago (1 child) Then I’ll continue to post what I have. permalink fedilink source parent hideshow 1 child comment replies: [–] agamemnonymous@sh.itjust.works 0 points 5 days ago Suit yourself, I hope it brings you the attention you so desperately seek. permalink fedilink source parent
