I know people are confused about how fediverse works and how to use it. This is an attempt to compile a list of beginner's guides made by some amazing people on this topic.

I set type to "all" in my settings, but the default is still "local." Anyone know what's up with that?

I'm pretty sure it's a bug. If you select "All", lemmy will show "local" at the top but will fetch "All" content anyway, You'll need to then select all and then local back again if you want to see local content again.

Kinda frustrating but should be an easy fix for devs.
