Thanks. No wonder I didn't understand. The exodus feels like forever ago and it disconnected me from reddit culture.
Using the word tree to refer to reefer predates reddit culture. Idk why. Best guess is our ancestor's lack of creativity regarding slang terms and it's a leafy plant.
When fully grown, they do resemble small trees
