I really feel like I've missed something about this Sweeny thing. Is all this discourse simply because she has boobs?
she has booba. as is custom, some people feel a divine right to publicly comment on the aesthetic pleasure/displeasure they receive by looking others' bodies and believe their commentary is a substitute for having a personality. some go real hard, spinning a thread about how their opinions on other's looks has broad social implications or otherwise deep meaning of great value for the rest of us.
I'm confused as hell by this whole thing. It's like one of those dancing epidemics from the middle ages but instead of dancing it's just dudes being stupid.
they're doing Sydney Sweeney like they used to do Taylor Swift. A white, attractive, apolitical blonde lady onto whom they can project their desires for a subservient aryan tradwife and a white ethnostate. Sydney, like Taylor, avoids politics completely (as far as I know), allowing the far-right to cast her as their anti-woke heroine in whatever fantasy they have in their heads. Of course the second she does the slightest thing perceived as "woke" they'll drop her, just like they dropped Taylor (although I guess first they're gonna run themselves in circles trying to justify all of Sydney's "woke" actions as some 5d chess move that's ackshually owning the libs, like this guy seems to be doing with the GLAAD thing).
But yeah she also has larger than average breasts so they seem to be obsessing about that because I guess they never left middle school.
Right wingers have no actual theory, stances or moral ground to stand on. As such they have to make their entire ideology around ripping others down.
If anything I'm mad that they are co-opting a woman body into a political point, although I guess controlling women's bodies is par for the course for those folk.
