i agree, jalapenos are very underwhelming. All hot things should be like inconsistently watered habaneros so you never know if they're going to be super mild or mind bendingly hot.
I don't even like how habaneros taste they just taste like acid reflex to me and I like spicy shit I just don't like the stuff that's like diagonally spicy I don't want to have a stinging numbing heat. I don't like the Szechuan shit.

it just feels that way
try scotch bonnets sometime, it's hot like a habanero except the flavor is wild
even if it turns out you don't like them, they're so different it's worth a shot
I forgot to try them after someone told me a while back. You know I never made a getting things done method TM style recipe checklist now is a good time to start.
I was just surprised I've never really tasted nice earthy red jalapeño (alone that is. obv it's in lots of sauces) although I've tried a lot of weird hot peppers classic white people shit
