.ml is explicitly a restricted speech instance. It's a safe space for Tankies, not dissimilar to Nazi safe spaces. They don't and will never care about your good intended arguments.

[-] [email protected] 3 points 4 days ago

Come on.

Fuck RT! Fuck Russia!

Is hardly a "good intentioned argument".

[-] [email protected] 7 points 3 days ago

Who cares?

No, seriously โ€” we have upvotes and downvotes for a reason. Why are people not allowed to simply downvote the 'Fuck RT! Fuck Russia!' comments and move on?

Actually, for someone arguing in good faith, wouldn't these be perfect chances to provide examples of how 'Fuck RT! Fuck Russia!' is actually an incorrect perspective?

The answer is yes, it would be the perfect chance. The reason they choose to ban instead is because they're cultivating an echo chamber.

I didn't say this particular case was a good intentioned argument. You're not allowed to say fuck RT or fuck Russia on .ml is the main point.

[-] [email protected] 13 points 4 days ago

Or anything that might insinuate that you disagree with Dear Leader.

[-] [email protected] 5 points 3 days ago

It's the correct response to state sponsored propaganda.

"Kill list". ๐ŸŒ

That's just a lie on top of a lie. That list was basically for background checks for individuals either actively engaged in war against Ukraine OR partaking in propaganda or legalization of occupation.

So at worst - if one tried to do business with Ukrainians - they'd be denied due to their place in the list, or simply not let in at the border, if border guards cared enough. After all, it's unofficial and is run by God knows who.

Also, notice the language choice - "Ukrainians add". Just generalizing and vilifying entire people.

[-] [email protected] 9 points 4 days ago

So basically they care more about this fake "kill list" but don't give a fuck about the people Russian mercenary/army actually killed.

[-] [email protected] 13 points 4 days ago

Well, this is not indeed a kill list. The current husband of my ex-wife is on the list because he's visited her relatives in Crimea. He's antiwar, anti Putin, etc, but the list doesn't make any sense as of today

[-] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago

Anti-war but clearly not anti-occupation. The proper way for someone to visit Ukraine would be to ask Ukraine first, not for a Russian to do it like it's your own country after the annexation of Crimea.

[-] [email protected] 1 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

not anti-occupation

pro-buerocratic. FTFY.

Edit: can't say that for him, but I would never do that theatre. Ukraine hasn't had any means to enforce its border policy

[-] [email protected] 0 points 3 days ago

Arriving to it from the bridge built by Putin was illegal entry. Ukraine still had control over the northern side of Crimea, so if the person weren't pro-annexation, how come it wasn't done that way?

[-] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

Hmmm.. because you do visit your fucking relatives using the easiest way possible, avoiding possible encounters with border control? I don't believe I'm talking with a real human right now tbh

[-] [email protected] 0 points 3 days ago

Not how it works. Most people would respect laws and/or certain moral guidelines before they think of whether it's easy. In a car, speeding would get you to your destination quicker too, but it's not all about you.

[-] [email protected] 2 points 3 days ago

Most people would respect laws

Check the reality again

Is there any easy way to migrate from lemmy to piefed? Would rather spend my time and donations on sane devs working to improve their platform instead of curating their own personal propoganda fiefdom.

[-] [email protected] 5 points 3 days ago

Moving posts/comments to other sites isn't a thing in threadiverse. Especially if you're a regular user. However, migrating the content of Lemmy instance database to Piefed is apparently starting to look like a feasible thing and some Lemmy instances like slrpnk are exploring that possibility in the future.

What you can do is export your Lemmy subscriptions and import them on a Piefed instance.

[-] [email protected] 7 points 3 days ago

It is very easy. You just create an account on piefed and that's it.

[-] [email protected] 6 points 3 days ago

There is an import function in piefed and an export in Lemmy, though it doesn't do comments/posts, just subs/blocks

[-] [email protected] 4 points 4 days ago

I wanna know this too. I just migrate to lemmy zip not too long ago and looking to migrate off this platform altogether.

Wow so surprising

What is a Tankie?

Alternatively, a detailed blog post about Tankies.

(caution of biased source)

Basic Rules:

Sh.itjust.works Instance rules apply! If you are from other instances, please be mindful of the rules. โ€” Basically, don't be a dick.

Hate-Speech โ€” You should be familiar with this one already; practically all instances have the same rules on hate speech.

Apologia โ€” (Using the Modern terminology for Apologia) No Defending, Denying, Justifying, Bolstering, or Differentiating authoritarian acts or endeavours, whether be a Pro-CCP viewpoint, Stalinism, Islamic Terrorism or any variation of Tankie Ideology.

Revisionism โ€” No downplaying or denying atrocities past and present. Calling Tankies shills, foreign/federal agents, or bots also falls under this rule. Extremists exist. They are real. Do not call them shills or fake users as it handwaves their extremism.

Tankies can explain their views but may be criticised or attacked for them. Any slight infraction on the rules above will immediately earn a warning and possibly a ban.

Off-topic Discussion โ€” Do not discuss unrelated topics to the point of derailing the thread. Stay focused on the direct content of the post, rather than engaging in unrelated arguments.

Brigading โ€” If you're here because this community was linked in another thread, please refrain from voting, commenting or manipulating the post in any way, this includes alt accounts. All votes are public, and if you are found to be brigading, you will be permanently banned.

You'll be warned if you're violating the instance and community rules. Continuing poor behaviour after being warned will result in a ban or removal of your comments. Bans typically only last 24 hours, but each subsequent infraction will double the amount. Depending on the content, the ban time may be increased. You may request an unban at any time.
