tl;dr: Argentina wasn't necessarily as, if not more reactionary, genocidal, and racist than U.S.A or any other settler-colonial nation, against Indigenous and African people, historically speaking

after all, "you can't divide and rule when you've never been really able to {incentivize them} in the first place"

All, despite the pro-elitist, comprador Unitist attempts to make out such plans (think of them as the Roman optimates of Argentina)

It's more complex than that.

Good vid, BadEmpanada usually makes very good and detailed videos about South American history and news. Most USians probably don't even know about the Mapuche conflict or who Juan Perón (and Peronism) really was. Everything they know about Argentina probably comes from rich, white Argentine gusanos who have never left their wealthy neighborhoods (this also goes for most Latin American countries), or from projecting stuff into Argentina, because most USians can't accept that their country is the most racist on the continent.

It's also true that Milei is spreading modern USian racist ideology in Argentina (just like Bolsonaro did in Brazil, Kast in Chile, Noboa in Ecuador and Keiko Fujimori in Peru, which is already a very conservative country). He wanted to create a “wall” around the border with Brazil, Paraguay, Bolivia and Uruguay so that he could post on Twitter that he is just like his hero, Donald Trump. Meanwhile, Milei, not so secretly, is begging Brazil, Paraguay, Bolivia and Uruguay for help and money because his entire country and government are collapsing and the provincial governors were making deals with foreign governments without the federal government.

I liked that BadEmpanda also talked about the fact even some Argentine libs and leftist refuse to talk about racism/xenophobia in Argentina because they think since it's not as bad as in the USA, that we should focus on other topics. Also, really leopards ate my face moment when it comes to Venezuelan Gusanos in Argentina (tbh this happens all over South America) getting treated poorly by the far-right people they supported.

Breadtube if it didn't suck.

Post videos you genuinely enjoy and want to share, duh. Celebrate the diversity of interests shared by chapochatters by posting a deep dive into Venetian kelp farming, I dunno. Also media criticism, bite-sized versions of left-wing theory, all the stuff you expected. But I am curious about that kelp farming thing now that you mentioned it.

Low effort / spam videos might be removed, especially weeb content.

There is a cytube that you can paste videos into and watch with whoever happens to be around. It's open submission unless there's something important to commandeer it with at the time.

A weekly watch party happens every Saturday (Sunday down under), with video nominations Saturday-Monday, voting Monday-Thursday. See the pin for whatever stage it's currently in.
