Not to be too doomer but this same thing has been tried so, so many times and it has failed/ been sabotaged every time. Every single one of them. Even this one is trying to do the stupid Apple-esque, Corporate Memphis shit on their landing page. You will never be able to sell this in the modern technological hellscape. We must return to the old ways, and I'm only partly joking.

This is why Mothra is the most advanced web browser. The only one to have a fully integrated "moth mode"! However, for us mere mortals I am excited about the ladybird browser as an alternative (in a couple of years most likely).

next i'll finally move to linux and somehow every linux build will be bought up by microsoft or something
Thankfully in Linux land the evil corporation is Canonical, who aren't really even all that evil, more like a Team Rocket (anime version) style nuisance.

this is so disappointing
Firefox has long been going this way. I started exploring alternatives some years back, when Firefox started serving me ads on desktop, tracking me for marketing purposes on mobile, and talking about the "importance of collaboration with the private sector". This is really just a natural progression from there.
It's still the best browser (rock the LibreWolf branch), but it's, ever more, just the best of a bad bunch.
