Tabletop Rpg posts, content, and recruitment posts.

Recruitment posts should contain what system is being played, CW for any adult/serious themes players need to be aware of and whether a game is beginner friendly.

An obvious reminder of no racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia and transphobia.

Emphasis on small independent rpgs like the ones in the TTRPGs for Trans Rights in Texas but not against dnd stuff.

Wdym, sloppily incorporating other intellectual property is very hard work, much harder than fleshing out their own intellectual property. /$

Fr tho it feels like ready player one right now and imo is pretty gauche in execution. That plus the current story from what I've briefly come across online or through whatever cards were left behind at the last lgs I was at seems lazy. Like war of the spark 2.0 and a rehash of a rehash. It is what it is. Bought proxies though, gonna start printing some as well once I've got all the money I need saved up. Once I start printing probably hand a few out to anyone who gets salty I use proxies because they were duped into spending thousands on cheap cardboard... I'll use it as a teachable moment.

War of the spark was just them cashing in on avengers

Yeah, but isn't that what they've done again with new new phyrexia?

I still don’t understand that one, that plus the whole world tree thing that makes planeswalkers even less special.

Yeah, I'm starting to use more and more proxies. Though I was totally down with them to begin with, it's my group I'm working on. My bro-inlaw got me into magic a couple years ago, so we bond over buying boxes and cracking packs. But I've at least convinced him we should stop pre-ordering and wait for box prices to drop. Our LGS had the Markov Manor playbooster box selling for even more than what we were paying for set booster box. Just wild. I think that was the last straw for him. Except for Fallout, of course. 🤪 I bought some blank cards a while back and one of these days wanna try doing a thermal transfer on them.🤞

Do you have any place I can learn more about printing my own cards? All I've been able to find is Chinese printers doing it for 1$ a card. I'd like to know if it could be done better or cheaper or on my own or something.

I'm afraid I've not actually done like DIY yet. My sister is one of those craft people who has like a crickit and a thermal press thing, so I'm reasonably sure it's possible with some blank cards I've bought and her sublimation printer(video), but I've not gotten the chance to test it yet.

I've also considered doing this: which is using a tool/website to put together a bunch of cards and then send it to a printer, but again haven't done it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KA9pY0NNMvc

I have ordered some cards from this place, and they're not horrible, but the resolution wasn't quite as good as I was expecting. https://mtg-print.com/

For the most part, I still just take the tokens for doublesided cards and just write my card on the damn thing.
