Judaism is currently doing a genocide.

Silly me, I thought that was the state of Israel doing that.

Yeah I would strongly agree that Judaism shouldn't be held responsible for Israel's actions. Then again if you're going to hold the other big 2 to account for some crazy shit some of their people do, its not as much of a false equivalence as I it seems, I guess. But it seems like both are kind of unfair. Like you wouldn't go after your Jewish friend for something Israel did if they didnt support it, or your Muslim friend on 9/11 that was just as horrified as you.

I also think ultimately Religion is used to explain/justify some atrocious things, but those things are really the result of other things at play, and religion is more a tool to facilitate these horrible things than the actual cause ( like its means, not an ends?).

And all the big 3 deep down share a lot of values, as they hate a lot of the same thing, and cause they are like a trilogy like star wars, but the hard-core Empire Strikes Back fans pretend like the first movie was just back story and Return of the Jedi never happened. So you could come at Judasim with most of the same arguments as the other 2 but real world examples depend more on how awful people can be.

Just like the state of Ireland ran the schools in question?

100% of the Jewish people are not responsible for the actions of the state of Israel, but the larger diaspora supports the war through non-profits, fundraising, disinformation, and the support of non-Israeli political officials.

Wow. This essay is really powerful.

But as a white USian, much of the same applies to me.

Absolutely. It applies to me, too, and was definitely a sobering realization when I realized how much it applied to me. Just because we're the privileged class doesn't absolve us of the responsibility of doing the best we can to separate ourselves from politicians and structures of power that support injustice around the world. The responsibility on us is even more onerous in that no-one is keeping an eye on us to see what we support, at least not in the way that Jewish or Arabic activists are scrutinized.
