I am half sorts looking at routers this week during the sales. I dug through all the old threads and debates and man. That was some reads. The conclusion I came to was either bye a ASUS or go for a more I guess “progressional” WAP style setup. I a, wondering if the ASUS router suggestions still old true. For info internet is 1 gig cable plan through xfinity aka comcast, amd I think I’m due to update my stuff.

Warning about the Xfinity. Using a different router adds a 1tb month data cap. Removing it requires Comcast Business which increases the price to 270 month.

Bridge mode is “supposed” to work however I wasted 3 weekends with nothing to show for it. Once in bridge mode mine refuses to get an IP even after factory reset. Xfinity support is no help.

It might depend where you're located - I have Xfinity with my own hardware and upgrading to unlimited data is another $30/month it is just a bit buried on their website.

If you're looking for a deal on a route/gateway device (as compared to a all-in-one device), Ubiquiti will be having a BF sale on its UDM-Pro. Almost 1/2 at $300 if I remember.
