This is going to be a weekly section every Saturday. A space to unwind after the week is over, where we discuss how the week has been and how we're spending the weekend.

Here, you can share how your week has been and how do you plan your weekend.

For me, l created my piefed account a couple of days back, and am enjoying it immensely. I also created a whacky community on lemmy: !dumbquestions@crazypeople.online , which is already getting a good response. I encourage people to put their dumb questions over there, as it's meant to be a "brain fart" zone.

At my place, the world was busy with the elections, which was finally concluded on Thursday. I was stripped of my right to vote, and l have issues with the election commission. Although ours is the self-declared "World's Largest Democracy" yet 'adult franchise' is anything but "universal" here.

I attended the webinar by the @dpgalliance@mastodon.social and it literally opened up my eyes.

I made some new reels, which l'm sharing in my community !south_asia_bazaar@feddit.online .

Unless the election results are out, the world is silent out here.

But l've already made quite a few friends on fediverse:)))

By the way, you can also try out my floss/open source community !hack_the_planet_hub@feddit.online

Glad you've been enjoying your time here.

This post may be a better fit for !casualconversation@piefed.social

Good point.

@mastkalandar@feddit.online , why not use !opensource@programming.dev for the FLOSS community?

[-] MastKalandar@feddit.online 1 points 11 hours ago

I wish to develop one on piefed, where everything related to floss/open source can be discussed under one umbrella. We can even go as far as criticising the corporate world.

Good luck, but from personal experience it takes a lot of effort to keep a community active. Contributing to an existing one is usually easier

Communities on lemmy are too much tight about rules.

Programming.dev is quite relaxed

@snoopy@piefed.social how to make this a weekly feature every Saturday ??

[-] Snoopy@piefed.social 8 points 14 hours ago

Thank :) I appreciate your cool idea but i decline because this community is for topic related to fediverse and we already have a weekly thread where you can share communities, fediverse software you enjoy :)

As @vicinus@piefed.zip said, your post fit better !casualconversation@piefed.social Why ? Although you kinda talk about both (fediverse+your experience), you share more about you own experience and want to unwind. :)

That's a scheduled post, but before using them in any community, you must always ask permission to community mods.

Otherwise, they will be forced to ban you from their community to stop the scheduled post. So reach them, show its futur content and ask if they agree. You can find mods in the community sidebar. :)

You don't have to ping me everytime at every posts you create. Just few time. And later you will notice that we are often stay in the same community. :)

I may not reply everytime but there is plenty people here. Maybe it is scary the first time ? But we are here and casual conversation is a great place to talk with people and talk about your life. (Don't give personal info) :)

If you need help on Piefed : how to do scheduled post, flair, how to use css...post on !piefed_help@piefed.social :)

Although France has been our colonial master, not the British, yet we hold a very amicable attitude towards France and the French. During the colonial heydays, my town used to be a very important meeting place for the revolutionaries, as the British could not enter here, and the French always maintained a great attitude towards la revolution and la libertée.
