Such a travesty that the museum closed. Not even one of the local tech billionaires could even give them the chump change they need to keep it running?

And now it's being auctioned on Christie's to forever be away from the general public.

I know, I was absolutely gutted when I heard about it. Fingers crossed these machines end up in good hands, but yeah -- I worry that many will end up in private collections never to be seen again. I think a lot of tech money bros just don't care enough about preservation and education of vintage tech.

that is quite bonkers. this stuff definitely belongs in museums. the computer history museum in Mountain View is definitely worth the trip.
