This game is actually 3 player co-op. It was a bit chaotic, and I recall the screen scroll being an issue, but fun.
hell yeah, the partner and i may dig into these soon! been on my list since i was first emulating on zsnes, but i didn't have the focus to play a lot of these games when i was that young
You're probably thinking of Seiken Densetsu 3/Trials of Mana. I think that both of them support two player.
