"Tennessee and Nebraska are canceling their upcoming football series, which was scheduled for 2026 in Lincoln and 2027 in Knoxville. A driver of the move was Nebraska wanting eight home games in 2027 when they expected reduced stadium capacity because of renovations."

The usual suspects are brought up when it comes to NIL for high school and portal recruiting: Oregon, Texas A&M, Ohio State, Auburn, Miami etc.

I’m wondering which schools have seen their recruiting hurt the most by NIL the last few years?

I'll do it in tiers:

Should definitely win: Western, Youngstown

Will be favored: Boston College, UCLA, Maryland

50/50 games: @Minnesota, @Nebraska

Slight underdog: @USC, @Iowa

Decent underdog: @Indiana, Penn State

??? (because rivalry): Michigan

Overall I'm saying 7-5 for MSU. It's not a sexy record but better than the past 3 seasons that's for sure. I think we take Western, Youngstown, BC, UCLA, Maryland, one of the two 50/50s, and one of the two slight underdogs. Michigan idk what to think of them.

Original Title: [Vannini] The Big Ten and SEC (and others) are considering league play-in tournaments for an expanded CFP in 2026 and beyond. Perhaps 1st and 2nd place get CFP bids, while 3-6 play it out. Or even 1-8 play it out.

It's a common refrain to see people say that college football is losing what makes it unique and become NASCAR-ified.

I don't disagree that a lot of what makes it unique is being lost with these mega-conferences spanning the continent, but I'm not all that familiar with NASCAR's history.

Could someone who is a joint CFB-NASCAR fan explain the parallels?
