I recently made the post above.

Overall the responses were insightful, and I had a joy responding to some comments. ✨

I ended up choosing the comment that made most sense, and included an edit explaining to guys what I think would have been best in that situation if they were the ones walking by.

But after I added those edits in, it seems to have ruffled the feathers of some men, whom took it upon themselves to insult me and or throw shade upon me for my conclusions.

I did get the insight I wished for, and better understand the situation that occured. But I didn't want to also have dirt in my mouth after eating my meal.

I wish that in times like this there was a way for me to mute threads etc. 😞

Vent over, meow meow meow.

I don't generally play multiplayer games, but I used to play Palia when it first came out and could jump back into it if I had some friends that still played. Anyone else here play that or another multiplayer game they'd like to suggest?

This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you’re here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we’ve got you covered.

I feel like men can do all of those things, so I don't see why we are excluding them. Just because it's a women-centric community doesn't mean they shouldn't be allowed. I think we should exclude people who are bigoted instead, or even people who just don't "get" women's issues.

Aside: I'm personally irritated that make-up is what's considered a woman-centric topic. That's kind of reductive -- not everyone is femme.

Some women have preferences, some don't care. Additionally, do you think women or men doctors care more about their patients?

I've seen some women complain about issues with PMDD and their dr brushes it off. When I suggest maybe seeing a female gyno instead, they say their gyno IS female.... Why would another women be dismissive to issues like pmmd or endometriosis?

I'm sure some male Dr's do this too, but I'm just surprised when it's a woman Dr who's being dismissive.

Women are trained to not value ourselves, and put ourselves down. What makes you stand out?

Considered to be some of the earliest feminist writings, her work includes novels, poetry, and biography, and she also penned literary, historical, philosophical, political, and religious reviews and analyses.

...

Her activism has also drawn the fascination of modern feminists. Simone de Beauvoir wrote in 1949 that Épître au Dieu d'Amour was "the first time we see a woman take up her pen in defence of her sex".

I would like to read some of her work, but haven't yet.

Women are often taught assertive means bitch and/or unhinged. How easy do you find being assertive? Has this changed through your life?

Happy Friday y'all! Today's game is simple, the theme is girls names. You reply with a girls name that starts with the last letter of the previous name and so on. So for example, Paul ends with L, so the next name could be Lewis, then Simon etc. No repeating names!

Just saw the post about baked goods and thought it might be nice to have a place for people to list some favorite recipes. Would love to see a mix of more complicated ones and some more simple ones so don't just share your fanciest. Share your favorites!

I've been more active in online spaces recently and I am just astounded at the number of times I'll be several comments deep with another person and a man will just jump in responding to us both with the least relevant most inflammatory take. The gender of the person I'm talking to is never relevant, but it's always a guy that interjects. I know the internet is a public forum, and I guess there's more guys on some platforms than women, but it's just shocking how often it has happened. We'll be talking about baking and some guy will come in and say that it actually costs more to bake bread at home or clothes and some guy will come in to say actually both our styles are bad. It's not even a sexist thing I don't think, I just think women are socialized more with a live and let live mentality and men are socialized to believe that everyone should hear their opinion. I don't really have any solutions. I always want to reply with something snarky about how we're not asking him or how his comment doesn't need to be shared, but I don't want to invite harassment. Their comments get upvotes or reacts in agreement and it just feels targeted. Like two people were having a casual chat and this guy comes in and derails and gets positive attention for it. I'm just venting now because it just happened in a gaming discord and I don't really have people irl who understand how these communities are helpful and how that kind of community reaction is ostracizing.

Women only trans inclusive This is an inclusive community for all things women. Whether you're here for make up tips, feminism or just friendly chit chat, we've got you covered.

Rules…

  1. Women only… trans women are women, and transphobic or gender critical talk isn’t allowed. Anyone under the trans umbrella (e.g. non-binary, bigender, agender) is free to decide whether a women's community is a good fit for them.
  2. Don’t be a dick. No personal attacks, no aggression, play nice.
  3. Don’t hate on groups, hatefilled talk about groups is not allowed. Ever.
  4. No governmental politics, so no talk of Trump actions etc. We recommend [email protected] for that, but here is an escape from it.
  5. New accounts or users with few comments may have their posts removed to prevent spam and bad-faith participation.
