Good write up on the ongoing debate over harness protectors (especially about the effectiveness of newer materials like koroyd).

Been enjoying these hike and fly videos in the UK by one of the FlyBubble gang. He’s done Scottish highlands and North Wales - very chill and well produced and good mix of hiking, nature, light alpinism, and PG with light gear.

In memory of its creator Everard who past over a year ago. A few of us would like to preserve this work he dedicated himself to.

Many thanks to Bartosz Ciechanowski. Last paragraph: "I hope this deeper, technical exploration of airfoils hasn’t diminished your appreciation of the greatness of flight. Perhaps paradoxically, by seeing how all the pieces fit together, you’ll find the whole thing even more magical."

Think this qualifies as the scariest speedflying video I've seen yet.

Great video on how to fix a bunch of zipper issues. Handy to have on hand for harness, rucksack, and concertina bag zipper problems. Implemented one of the fixes in the video (took less than a minute) and that fix is still going strong after a year.

Final results in for the red rocks wide open.

Any recommendations on guides in France and Switzerland? Planning a trip for next year and would like to have some local expertise for flying the alps - haven’t flown there before. Ideal would be someone that would fly with me and be on radio, but open to other options.

Looks like super lightweight, loads of pockets, and 70L total storage volume. Might be a good rival to the BV1.

Not a sailplane pilot, but thought this was pretty neat. Uses the airflow to push the wiper out to the end of the wing and then either a simple electric motor or a hand crank to bring it back towards the fuselage.

Have been fiddling with removing the brummels from my speed system and wanted a nice stopper knot for the larkshead to grab onto. Hope this benefits someone else.

Ha - hadn’t seen this on Tryfly’s site before. Nice that it’s just a cover (so you could keep it in your gear for a little emergency rain protection too).

As a PG, this terrifies me, but looks like good stuff for sailplane pilots.

Product page is up for the new Scala 2 (looks like a high-C wing).

Interesting new design from Advance. It's a reversible harness, but you don't have to turn the whole thing inside-out - the rucksack folds into the protector compartment underneath. Seems convenient.

Site's been up for some time, and it's delightfully "engineer-designed," but continues to be a good resource for general PG information. Written and maintained by a southern California PG instructor - Jerome Daoust.

Older video, but since I often run into pilots that are using Flyskyhy and have questions about some of the basic features, in addition to some of the stuff included in the add-ons, this one's worth a re-post and another watch. By Tim Pentreath.
