I would do the following step-by-step

  • manual mounting the drive
  • sharing via samba
  • auto mount

while doing the steps, i would

  • read wiki.archlinux.org when I need help on those steps
  • read cyberciti.biz tutorials on those topics
  • use explainshell.com to learn details about the commands I need to enter
