Currently, her biggest asset is her banana bed

So after the battle with parvo losing her siblings, I was going to keep Bonnie. Then my friend who also helps with fostering and rehoming reached out to me because somebody who previously adopted from her asked if she had any kittens for adoption right now… and I thought about it and I have 17 cats all of them had a sibling so when they integrated together they at least had one friend. I don’t know if that makes sense anyways I feel like it’s a good idea for her to live in Switzerland in a loving apartment so yeah she’s going to be enjoying her new life as a Swiss cat she leaves February 15 🥹 it’s bitter sweet.

No the tree was too big growing over the road it hadn’t been cut in the 15 years no one lived here; those stick looking things sticking up will be cut shorter as well.

So I initially sent the four kittens to the vet on December 19 so they were there for 22 days obviously three passed away while they were there battling parvo.. I thought it was gonna pay an arm and a leg, but the vet staff pulled me aside and told me that they would be covering the costs of care for them during that time 😭😭 and honestly it’s so nice because all the rescuing and fostering I do comes out of my pocket like I don’t have any donation set up nothing so it was really nice of them.

Anyways, Bonnie is doing really well. She has an appetite she’s playing with her toys in a cage while on quarantine until she can get her vaccinations and be introduced to the rest of my cats

So the kittens have been at the clinic for almost 2 weeks pumpkin passed first, then maple past three days ago and yesterday Casper passed. Bonnie was in a decline but now is stable and I’m hoping that she survives because what a sad way to start the new year losing four fosters to parvo 😭 this is utterly the worst part about foster and rescue its emotionally draining. But I just keep telling myself at least these little guys had some love before they were in the clinic. The worst part was because of the parvo diagnosis. I had to throw everything out right so I threw out the playpen they were in with the stockings that I hung for them for Christmas on it and it was just really sad, so I haven’t been posting about the cats a lot because I’m sad.

Last friday I noticed he wasn’t eating so I tried to make him some chicken. He wasn’t eating that either so I sent all four of the foster kittens to the vet and turns out they have Parvo pumpkin sadly passed away yesterday. Hoping the others make it 🥺 this is the sad part of rescuing and fostering but the silver lining is at least he got to have some love before he passed away.

One of my favourite pictures of her

[-] Whitecat@lemmy.zip 21 points 2 months ago

That’s mushroom she has some amazing expressions… she was dumped by some one along with her brother truffle at a local Tavern and the tavern was gonna keep her around, but then she started jumping on the tables eating people’s food. once she put her face in a customer’s milkshake it was the last straw and that Tavern asked my friend who does fostering and rehoming if they could take her. My friend asked me because she didn’t have enough space and now mushroom is a permanent resident . The meows that come from her when ever the fridge is open are hilarious.

There was actually one cat behind the blanket as well where the black-and-white cat is sitting on the floor. But yeah, there’s six more cats somewhere around the house that could fit there.

This picture is from today 3 of the 6 not in the original post lounging

100%. Especially the holes at the roots I’m gonna go take some pictures for you now.. they love to hide in them.

They are so cool and to think how massive and old they are is crazy. Here’s a picture of the oldest one on the property my grandparents left me.

And here’s a picture of my aunts across from my house.

These guys are mine now; after bottle feeding them I’m way to bonded to rehome them.. but they love it here. I’m away from a main road so they get to go run around in the yard pick up inside the house as well sleep in here we all just cuddle together. They’ve made friends with the first five cats. I rescued actually all the cats get along which is pretty nice, but I’m gonna be posting more stories of the cats that I rescued I have 16 that are my cats. There’s 7 that I’ve rehoused! Unfortunately, I don’t think I’ll be able to keep anymore myself because of the cost but any kittens that I do end up rescuing I’m going to try my best to rehome. my friend who’s been doing this a bit longer than me here is amazing at the adoption process. She’s gotten cats from here to Switzerland, the UK, Poland all over so I do the grunt work of the bottle feeding and she does the sourcing of good homes. 😂

So these three were thrown in the garbage in a bag as you can see and found by a tourist then sent them to me in a taxi cab where I bottle fed them and then the next picture is around three months they’re now seven months old. doing really well. But this is why spay and neuters are important.
