That idea feels very useful but I also distrust it and it makes me angry for reasons I can't articulate.

Limited hardware support for fwupd. Mostly older models, ones mentioned don't appear to be compatible.

Nintendo makes things for a very specific market and any spillover internationally is just a bonus. To be fair, that has worked out for them for decades now.

I'd be really curious to hear your thoughts after watching the secret life of Walter Mitty.

You are right that they are effectively limited use GPUs, but that doesn't make them useless. That's really the point, I'd agree it is a weird fit for laptops though.

My personal interest is object detection / facial recognition which is a function a lot of AIs have, but you may or may not classify it as 'Generative AI' on it's own.

I bought two sets of Govee Glide wall lights for my Office and I can't imagine how I would improve on them beyond just doing more to make them look 'built in'. It's a bit of a step up from an LED light strip.

Bernie is trying real hard to keep it up, but I'm leaning towards the former. I think he's just worn out now, he just hops on to whatever he's invited to, pivots to whatever his most important message is at the moment, does that laugh of his at a few comments and gets out of there.

I know right, there's a lot of backstory and some 'you had to be there' for this one, but I appreciate it.

VLC has over 6 billion downloads, obviously there are people who downloaded it multiple times, but that's getting close to averaging one per person in existence.

6 billion download announcement (eventually leads to X/twitter): https://techcrunch.com/2025/01/09/vlc-tops-6-billion-downloads-previews-ai-generated-subtitles/#%3A%7E%3Atext=VLC+media+player%2C+the+popular%2Can+AI-powered+subtitle+system.

Not directly comparable, but guesses at the number of Linux servers out there are in the 10s-100s of millions.

We're not looking at this from all angles, it could also be the Netherlands if its sideways, maybe even Luxembourg.

According to the cube rule, you have it backwards. A lasagna is a type of cake, or potentially a sandwich if you're a purist and depending on composition.
