“ECDYSIS is about getting into something that you know has the potential to cause you harm. When it inevitably does, you have to pick yourself up, shed your skin of it and (hopefully) grow wiser for the next time" - YINYANG

YARD are a gripping emerging four piece electro noise band from Dublin, Ireland. Bridging the gap between techno and noise rock, their music can only be described as an intense and immersive sensory experience.

YARD will leave you sweaty, energized, anxious and strangely unnerved. Drawing inspiration from SUUNS, Gilla Band, Death Grips, Nine Inch Nails among others, YARD is creating an experience truly like no other.

To be fair, he was quite outspoken and plans to continue teaching. It's one thing to be brave without dependents, but he's a New Jersey, public university professor with a family on a hit list. Reminder that the murderer of state Rep. Melissa Hortman also killed her husband and attempted to kill state Sen. John Hoffman and his wife. Hiring 24/7 security would take a large chunk out of his salary, and its very difficult to get a concealed carry license in NJ.

Proposal: Start referring to him as Lil 4’10” Fascist.

This throwback hit from classic YouTube was done for laughs but very much feels like proto-hyperpop.

That's because Mann, whose work is held at major art institutions around the world, is reeling after police seized four of her most celebrated — and reviled — photographs off the walls of the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth in Texas in January. "Awful" and "shocking," she recalled.

[...]

The black-and-white images are part of Mann's Immediate Family series, which became a flashpoint during the 1990s culture wars. Still, not once were her prints taken off the walls of a public site, until this year's seizure.

The Danbury Institute, a conservative Christian advocacy group, accused the museum of displaying "child pornography" in a December 2024 open letter. Backed by some local elected officials, they demanded the photographs be removed. "Children cannot consent to such photography, and displaying these images publicly only perpetuates their exploitation," the group said. "Such actions degrade the values of our community, endanger the innocence of childhood and contribute to a dangerous cultural shift."

[...]

The incident has no recent precedent in the United States, though there are parallels. Amy Werbel, a professor of art history at the Fashion Institute of Technology, said that the events surrounding the removal of Mann's photographs echo a period between 1873 and 1915 when "police empowered by anti-obscenity statutes" removed artwork from galleries and public spaces. Werbel said case law that emerged from that time made it more difficult to prosecute curators.

The Trump administration has said it intends to audit exhibitions and holdings at eight Smithsonian Institution museums to determine whether they align with the "President's directive to celebrate American exceptionalism, remove divisive or partisan narratives, and restore confidence in our shared cultural institutions." In a post on social media, Trump called out "Museums throughout Washington" and those "all over the Country" as being "the last remaining segment of 'WOKE.'" And a White House official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, told NPR that Trump "will start with the Smithsonian and then go from there."

When the team at Women Help Women signed into Instagram last winter, they were met with a distressing surprise: without warning, Meta had disabled their account. The abortion advocacy non-profit organization found itself suddenly cut off from its tens of thousands of followers and with limited recourse. Meta claimed Women Help Women had violated its Community Standards on “guns, drugs, and other restricted goods,” but the organization told EFF it uses Instagram only to communicate about safe abortion practices, including sharing educational content and messages aimed at reducing stigma. Eventually, Women Help Women was able to restore its account—but only after launching a public campaign and receiving national news coverage.

https://mothermooch.bandcamp.com/album/nocturnes

"Nocturnes is the debut full-length from Dublin five-piece Mother Mooch, and in its eight tracks, they set their footing in a genre-spanning aesthetic, pulling from slow-motion grunge, weighted heavy rock, psychedelic flourish and even a bit of punk on the shorter, upbeat “My Song 21” and “L.H.O.O.Q.” Those two tracks prove crucial departures in breaking up the proceedings and speak well of a penchant [...] toward sonic diversity. They bring a similar sensibility to the closing Lead Belly cover “Out on the Western Plain” as well, whereas cuts like opener “This Tempest,” “Into the Water” and “Misery Hill” work effectively to find a middle ground between the stylistic range at play. That impulse, seemingly innate to their songcraft, is what will allow them to continue to develop their personality as a band and is not to be understated in how pivotal it is to this first LP."
-The Obelisk (US)

"‘Nocturnes’ is an astounding album by a band that have so much potential to get recognised on a global scale. They are without a doubt one of the best bands on the Emerald Isle in the present day and this record is hard evidence to support such a claim. Their blend of psychedelia with grunge and stoner rock/doom is a highly sought after formula and Mother Mooch are keeping the secret closely guarded - and rightfully so."

Be sure to fact check before putting people on blast and ruining their reputation.

The following comedians were openly critical of those who took the gig. These comedians DID NOT go. Okatsuka specifically revealed the details of the contract these comedians had to sign. Woods made a scathing video that went viral criticizing the lineup.

Implying that consolidation gives them much more leverage to do whatever they like with more detrimental outcomes for the industry and users.

Don't think there are many left in the middle going about their day like nothing is wrong. Red regions like what is happening, and blue regions are torn between don't take the bait and can't sit around doing nothing. Those who don't like what's happening are kind of screwed no matter what they do. There are no good options when MAGA has seized so much power and Dems are responding so meekly.

Don't be so quick to paint an entire country with broad brush.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/sep/22/disruption-across-italy-as-tens-of-thousands-protest-against-gaza-war

Tens of thousands of people have taken to the streets in dozens of cities across Italy – shutting schools, disrupting trains and blocking ports and roads – in one of Europe’s largest nationwide protests against Israel’s offensive in Gaza.
