Also I am fairly certain it was a rare occurrence but had precedent pre-federation too.

I am being nice. I am calling them out because this is snitch behavior, and while this is a fairly innocent example on its face, this mentality can and will get people expelled, fired, jailed, or even killed.

You can look at the pages in arabic and you'll see they are different. It still speaks to a lot of ignorance/not caring to name it like that though, considering the company was founded only 2 years after the massacres happened.

It seems there are a lot of common misconceptions about how stuff works on lemmy. I regularly see people not understanding what community or instance they are posting on. It wouldn't suprise me if this person didn't have any idea who they were reporting content to.
That's why I made the post, because it is very funny, and I will continue to do so because it pleases the people.
My phone is broken and I think that leads to me sometimes spamming the same report a bunch of times. Just know it's not intentional.

"Terrorism" is simply a term of legitimization and de-legitimization. It legitimizes the violence of the oppressor (in this case israel: "they have to combat terrorists / terrorism") and de-legitimizes the violence of the oppressed (Hamas, but really the entirety of Palestine: "they're just terrorists, they totally just want to terrorize people and be assholes because they're like that").

More than that they are literally calling them Nazis now in an extremely twisted justification of genocide.
While this is worthy of mockery, i will say that a reason i don't report is posts like this. The fact that reports are not anonymous and are subject of mockery.
AFAIR they're anonymous on Mastodon (if cross-instance) so it's Lemmy that does things wrong
