There is a scene like this in BG3. When some people come to steal someone from your camp you can tell them to take him, just keep it down. Needless to say your companion is unimpressed with your lack of caring.

I mean I had already killed him by that point. When I waved my hand and said I don't care, another party member gave me shit for giving up that first companions location. The dead companion.
Free corpse disposal!
Are you talking about the kidnapping? She kidnapped a companion that I hadn't talked to in the entire game. I was like "oh cool! Now I don't have to see that little icon over her head anymore!". But then they made me save her. Pssh!
That’s not who I’m talking about. I’d rather not spoil it if you haven’t finished the game.
Okay, thanks. Well then maybe I'm glad I saved her now, so I can sacrifice her in whatever scene is coming.
For your next playthrough do it as Dark Urge. You can sacrifice one of the companions to get some benefits in a secret part of the underdark. I mean you can do it as not dark urge too but that wouldn’t thematically fit.
I started a 2nd playthrough a couple of days ago as a Drow Bard, who is kind of evil and self-serving. So maybe it would fit. I had planned to kill Karlach this time, but I just couldn't bring myself to do it. It's just a game, and they give you a lot of reasons to kill her, but after 150 hours of playing with her, going through her entire personal journey, and witnessing her emotional breakdown, I just couldn't do it. She's my favorite character. Astarion is my favorite character for scheming with, but Karlach is my favorite overall.
La'zael is my least favorite in my first playthrough and the one I was talking about before, but now in this new campaign she's my homey. So maybe I'll sacrifice Wyll, since he's a goodie two-shoes.
Edit: can you sacrifice a hireling in the Underdark?
Can’t be a hireling.
Also don't sacrifice Gale because two days later he explodes and you get a game over.
